Enchanting Life of Zac Posen
Add commentZac Posen is a figure for most fashionista. His works are inspiring and attractive. For you who do not really know him or this is the first time you know his name, here is a brief profile of Zac Posen.
This Scorpio man has been engaged with fashion art since the childhood. His father Stephen Posen is an artist while his mom is a corporate lawyer Susan Posen. He schooled at Saint Ann’s School and then he interned with fashion designer Nicole Miller. Since fashion is his most interest, therefore he attended pre-college program at Parsons The New School for Design. Fortunate for him, Richard martin, a curator, was willing to be his teacher for three years at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. His design education was continued to Central Martins College of Art and Design at the University of the Arts London. Then he was more challenged with the city’s atmosphere of competition.
In addition, he could improve his skills more independently like other students used to do in at that time. His first masterpiece was a thin leather stripy dress with dress-maker hooks and eyes. It is very beautiful that Victoria and Albert Museum took it for being displayed there and in “Curvaceous” exhibition.
His professional career was begun in 2000. He designed for Naomi Campbell. After that, orders started to flow. His clients are mostly artists like Paz de la Huerta and friends. Voila! His career gradually climbed with many publications. As he returned to New York, Posen used his parent’s living room as his private studio. He continued working and showing his collections. In October 2001, he and his works appeared at GenArt’s Fresh Faces in fashion New York 2001. He also worked with President of LVMH Fashion Group Yves Carcelle, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Christian Dior Sidney Toledano, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Gucci Group NV Domenico De Sole. Following his business success, he established new studio in Tribeca.
His golden years are more shining with many awards he has received. They are from the Council of Fashion Designers of America’s 2004 Swarovski’s Perry Ellis Award for Womenswear. Many celebs then trust his to be their designer, say, Kate Winslet, Natalie Portman, Rihana, Cameron Diaz, Beyonce Knowles, J-Lo, Mischa barton, and Claire Danes.
